Dear World and Everyone In It: New Poetry in the UK, Ed. Nathan Hamilton
Bloodaxe, 2013

if it is easier
to ask forgiveness
than permission
seek us
only as the
imperative creates
its situation
this was set to
settle as this
task addressed
tempted by
ideals of
motherless memory

in the moment
of crash, that
that is broken
bends, apologies
blend in at prophecy
edge and
fulfil the
disquiet

admission to your
singular responsibility
is no more
mentioned than
remembered as
granted
Picture

I write to you at a slant
  so that
     the tilt-touch
        of the incision will
          be less invasive when our
strings are pulled
    from our middles
     -  disconnected we will
        be holed but in a
         sewable sense and all
           drips will drip down
                           with less spill and
                           more directing
